How to Add Auxiliary or iPod Input to the Factory Radio
Ok, I just bought a 2006 G sedan, love it! I'm trying to add AUX to it. I have XM and found the interface in the trunk. I bought a used USA spec pa15-infi, installed it, but it doesn't work, thinking it's just busted. So now my question is, is there any other way to add AUX through the trunk beside the pa15-infi and avoid pulling out the whole stereo from the front?
Thanks in advance....

So I installed the gromnis02a1. The basic aux. it's awesome, sounds perfect, BUT, just so people know. Depending on your year car, you will lose either your sat functions or CD functions. Even though it's promoted to be able to keep both the aux and whatever other function you have. I lost my sat, would of been nice to keep it, but no big deal. Love that I can listed to my phone/iPod and podcasts again.
On a side note, anyone who is wanting to add aux and avoid pulling the dash/radio, do yourself a favor and install it through the back of the stereo and not in the trunk. I know it seems easier through the trunk and daunting pulling the dash, but you save so much time and hassle than having to find a way to run wires from the rear though your carpet. Just my 2 cents....
Anyways, great thread and thanks for all the info and the OP for posting....

I think your best option is to go with one of the nissan-style ones that plugs into the radio. The CD changer adapters are probably made to connect to the missing satellite radio harness in the trunk, or require manually matching the wiring without an adapter.
Good luck!
Good luck!
I have purchased ISNI571 and got it here yesterday.
I removed the radio and completed all the steps as per installation manual. However the radio was not able to change to XM mode and I probably know the reason.
As you remember, there is some box in the trunk (bluetooth adapter) and mess of the wires. By the way, I have never used this bluetooth, because the display of control device does not work properly.
There is the same situation on the back of the radio, it looks like wires from some of the harnesses were manually changed. I have attached the pictures with my comments.
Also there is the 6 pin minidin socket in the central console above the radio, but I don't have any idea what is it. And there are two yellow sockets on the picture, they look like RCA.
So now I have to restore original factory wiring in the harnesses and then connect ISNI571 adapter and try again. Can you please advise me factory wiring? My car is g35 2006.
I wish I could find somebody who understands this well. But here in Emirates it is very difficult, so I have to cope with this..
In the manual it was written to remove the antenna connection from the back of the radio, but I didn't do this. Is that really required?
Looking forward to your help!

The factory service manual can be found at psedog's repository: http://psedog.com/cars/fsm/g35/coupe/2006/av.pdf
Wow, that's quite a hack-job there. They couldn't even be bothered to get properly-colored RCA cables.

I have removed the radio and cd-changer. I have found sticker there with model no and frequency range. The frequency range does not show XM, there are only AM and FM. I have attached the photo. I cannot believe that this radio does not support satellite mode!

Do US spec radios have XM range there?
Any ideas how to make this adapter work? Does it support cd-changer emulation mode?

Yes, local people don't care about quality here. Thank you for the service manual.

No, the radios don't have XM range themselves at all. The XM/sirius adapter receives the satellite frequencies and sends an analog audio signal to the radio. Not sure if it's full cd-changer emulation.
1. Stuck CD was removed from the cd changer
2. CD reader laser was cleaned;
3. All bluetooth adapters were disconnected; I have found second one! UPDATE: The black box that I found in the trunk before is for the sound of parking sensors. Doesn't g35 have these sensors in stock? And bluetooth adapter was found in the driver's kick panel.
4. Hard reset of ISNI571 was done; (http://www.pac-audio.com/PACProductD...xaux_reset.pdf)
5. iSimple Gateway firmware was updated(http://www.pac-audio.com/firmware/gateway/index.html)
6. All connections of iSimple gateway were done following installation manual step by step;
However the problem is not solved. My iPod is charging from the adapter, but the radio does not recognize it.
Also my cd changer does not work, there is a sound when I am trying to switch it on. Text on the radio is not shown while it trying to play. I have recorded the video, please find at the end of my post. Any idea how to fix it?
Now my only option is to go for wired FM-modulator or for new after market radio, isn't it? Also I may try to find used factory radio from the car made for US market and test it. But I am not sure if it will be suitable for my car.

Did anybody actually successfully tap the satellite adapter to install aux input?
I have a 2005 G35X with the sirius satellite adapter EN-1186E.
I cut the red/green and black/white wires and connected it to the wires from 3.5mm jack.
I plugged the rest of the harness into the adapter and pressed "Radio" to get to SR1 and SR2.
But I'm getting no sound. The display reads "ACQUIRING" for a minute and then reads "INVALID ID".
Any help is appreciated.
edit: Just to add, I have the 3.5mm jack connected to an RCA adapter, and cut the 2 RCA wire to match the harness. But I don't think this should create any issue since I already tested continuity with a voltmeter so there's no problem with the RCA adapter.

The display just reads "INVALID" "CHANNEL" "Radio ID" "005475" "639611".
No sound with the 3.5mm jack connected to my phone.
If that's the case then I can definitively say that there's a discontinuity between the harness in the trunk to the headunit.
05 sedan no nav, no satellite tuner. I would like to try the plan b listed ahead. Would all I need is some sort of resistor on the tuner harness in the trunk to activate the satellite on the factory head unit?
