Looks great, but isn't it way too deep to fit that space? Plus, it probably extends straight out then flips up, so it would be hard to clear the frame around the cubby.

Sorry to be so dour - I'd love if such a product existed!

ya im not sure how deep the space is in the cubby. im at work right now and i cant get to the car to find out. or if the cubby pocket is completely removed with a new housing it might work (thinking out loud). humm ya im not sure how wide pockt is so that would affect it. they also have some pixs of some sort screen installed in the cubby in the installed page on the website. but i would love to see a motorized screen in there.

The screen is 7.5" deep. Definitly won't fit without cutting. Assuming you angle it best to fit, you still can't fit anything longer then 6" in the cubby without cutting something and it will probably stick out some even after agressive cutting.

The screen looks good from the specs, only time will tell how well it is actually made though.

The cubby hole opening is exactly 7" wide.

UbiquityV will definitly be coming out this year, right now its scheduled for release in May. Using the steering wheel controls will be more of a matter of installing the hardware. It will natively support girder plug-ins to allow any input device you want to control it and I will be releasing a girder plugin for steering wheel controls that will work via the gameport.

god_of_cpu - thats great news to hear. and that it will be working with the steering wheels control is freakin great. Also what screen would you recommend if i plan on getting UbiquityV. And will you still be making the housing for g35 in may, if i plan to order it all at once?

I'll be making them till my current stock of parts runs out. Once stock gets low enough I will be discontinuing the 700V line so I will have enough TSVs ready to be bundled with the software when it comes out. They may sell out soon after the software is released, but I anticipate having enough to meet at least the initial demand.

If I do do another production run, it will be for a 2k5 specific model.

You will definitly need a PAC or some similar device and a computer capable of running UbiquityV w/ accessories like a GPS antenna. Othing things you will need will depend on what you want to do with the system. i.e. microphone for Voice Recognition, XM Direct for XM radio, remote control etc.

One of my resellers is working on a mini-ITX based system that should fit in the DIN converter, however, you can get a cheaper and more powerful system if you mount it in the trunk where theres more room.

I will probably give away the base product of UbiquityV free with a touchscreen purchase, you will still have to buy the map data though for a NAV enabled version which will be around $200 or so.
