tapping 12v from headliner ('04 Sedan)
I have an '04 6MT "sport" sedan but it does NOT have the powered rearview mirror.
I'm going to be relocating my radar detector to a mount on the rear view mirror, and I want to run the power cord discreetly from the headliner area.
Does anyone know if the harness for the powered mirror exists in models where the base mirror is installed? And is it constant?
If not, what colour wire in the sunroof harness is 12v+?
Thanks in advance!

The harness is not present in base models, but I cannot say for certain on Journey and Sport models.
I installed the auto-dimming/homelink mirror in my wife's car and powered it from the vanity mirror light power wire, and it's worked flawlessly for us.

Isn't the vanity light a constant 12v? I mean, direct from the battery?
I want the circuit to be dead when the ignition isn't on. I'm the kind of guy who forgets he's left stuff turned on and gets dead batteries as a result.

Vanity isn't constant, it shuts down a few minutes after the car is off. It gets power again when the door is opened.
So no issues with power drain. It runs a small green LED on the mirror for about 5 minutes. Probably equivalent to the drain of the blinking security LED.
