Exclamation '06 Sedan keyless entry intermittent???

My keyless entry (not Intelligent Key) remotes suddenly started working only intermittently--the keyless door lock/unlock will work for a short period of time, then stop working, then start again under no particular conditions.

Here's what I have tried to no effect...

1. Try different remotes (I have 4 that all worked before)
2. Replace remote batteries
3. Disconnect car battery for 30 min
4. Reprogramed remotes (the car doesn't even detect any of them)
5. Visually-checked the control module under the dash, right side of the glove box (no loose connections of evidence of water intrusion)

I'm taking it to my mechanic later today, but I'm hoping someone can point me to some possible failure areas.

So after further testing, the remotes always work, it's their RANGE that's variable. Sometimes they only work while I'm sitting in the car, and sometimes they have a range that's just outside the car.

Could a receiver antenna have become disconnected? Where would I start to look?

HELP!

Either the receiver's malfunctioning, or you've got something generating interference.
