Try a different adapter, the build quality on those generic/clone ELM327 devices is all over the place.

I also have a Samsung S5, and my adapter never shows "connected" in bluetooth settings after I pair it. You have to tell Torque what BT device to use. If it still doesn't want to work, try the Lite versions either NDSII or NDSIII (Nissan Data Scan 2 or 3) from the Play Store. If neither of those work, then you probably have a bad dongle.

What error message is Torque giving you by the way? That it can't find the adapter, or that it can't connect to the ECU?
