stock radio. i wouldnt think that the factory radio would have an internal amp for FM and then CD. its just strange that i cant get any sound from FM stations but the CD plays as loud as it will go just fine. thats why i was leaning toward the antenna amp, but i already swapped with another and still nothing.

Was the antenna amp you replaced it with a known good antenna amp, or a unknown used one? What about AM? Did you accidentally scratch and break the antenna wires on interior of the rear window, possibly through the removal of tint? Did the connector to the rear window antenna get unplugged?

Get a multimeter and check for power at the antenna amp. I'll assume you haven't removed the stock radio, so the chances of the antenna plug coming disconnected are virtually zero... If the antenna amp is getting power, your options come down more or less to pulling the radio and trying an external antenna or wired FM modulator plugged in to see if it's still not getting signal

wires are all good even at the rear window. the new amp was removed from a salvage car with low miles, jst seems the chances of it being bad as well are small. the radio station comes through clear, just isnt loud. if the car isnt running and not much outside noise i can hear the staions coming through clear, but its like the volume wont come up above a whisper. this is nuts. I would immediately think it was a bad internal speaker amp if it wasn't perfectly normal when i am playing cd's. . . . .
