Bob, I also have factory xm satellite radio, can I just unplug the xm satellite adapter and use the PAC adapter? I want the sound to come out of the car speakers

More answers:
1. You get 4 different navigation views: Map view, Driver’s View, Guide view and Arrow view, which looks like Route view. Plus something they call “Close-up of intersection”
2. I believe you could unplug your Sat receiver in the trunk and use the PAC but, I am not 100% sure. Maybe someone else knows for sure. Also with my set up only the sound from the DVD comes out of the speakers/headphones. The voice guidance commands from the navigation system only come from the voice guidance speaker.

Since there seems to be some interest from some of you to do this type of install, I will attempt to post additional pictures on my web site of the peripheral equipment and how I mounted it. Also more information on how I routed cables and possibly a wiring diagram of where I hooked up all the leads to the player and monitor.

Just an update on how the system has worked so far. Three words, “I Love It”.
• The navigation is very accurate
• The image is clear and sharp
• The remote is easy to use
• The voice commands are awesome (I am getting more entries into the address book and assigning voice commands to them. I can speak one word and the unit calculates the best/fastest route to my destination)
• Voice guidance is also way cool
• I also bought a PC card to upload and download information to and from the player
• DVD player works and looks great

All for now,
Bob

I don't have Sattelite and just the standard (non-Bose) head unit. If I used a PAC adapter, would I be able to listen to DVD's through the existing speakers? (sorry- I'm a complete nube about this stuff.)

DaBear,
I am not sure what works with the PAC adapter, I do not have one yet. Anyone else with the answer?
Bob

P.S. I updated my site with some more wiring info and pictures of the Mic and antenna placement. http://mr2bob.com/G35.htm

I'm pretty sure the PAC audio adaptor will work with any rBOSE or non-BOSE radio equipped with the button for satellite radio. If you don't have this button, i.e. you have an early 2003, it won't work.

I have just updated my Web Site with additional wiring schematics and a chart showing the Player hookup to the back of the Bose head unit. Towards the bottom of the page: http://mr2bob.com/G35.htm

I think you do, get 3 Views. Also with the screen show below ( picture ) I beleive if you had a seperate unit for the DVD's you can watch a DVD on the left side and the NAV should show on the right.
