Can anyone comment if the Scosche kit is compatible with the nav system without modification?
I have an '04 coupe with the silver dash and nav, and I've been looking at the Scosche kits for a while but was worried about the color match, even before I found this thread.
The pictures in pkdesign's post look like a pretty good match for the silver, but the pewter photos from mcleo19 don't look anywhere as close. And all the gunmetal pictures definitely don't seem right. Is it just different lighting, or is the kit from the Scosche rep something different still from gunmetal and pewter? I find the poor color matching surprising since it seems to be of good build quality.
I might just go with the charcoal kit as the OP did.
Hi all, I ordered a Scosche Gunmetal kit and had it delivered to the UK only to find the same horrible issue with colour match. I contacted them and they agreed to send a replacement when i sent mine back ... they were good to their word and sent another, but it was the same horrible colour.
So in the end i went to a car paint shop and took my old lower trim from the centre console and got it colour matched, then took the scosche part and my original lower console parts to a spray shop and got it all sprayed the same colour.
Now it looks good! so i;ve just got to wait until i get a free weekend to get it all installed.

Nice. Sometimes its just easier to take matters into tour own hands.
I had the same issue where I ordered the scosche GMB thinking it was lightest, then googling "gun metal" compared to "pewter" and realizing pewter was the right color, and having it exchanged. Only to receive the same color in return. So I returned that one as well and just got my money back... I'm sticking with Metra until Scosche can get their **** together, or until I do a vinyl wrap on my dash...
Install looks nice and clean, though I still don't get how they call that gunmetal a color match. Crazy.
JDM is pricey but still the best way to go, IMHO.

Agreed, and in my opinion worth the premium.
This is actually my bros car, and he wanted to keep cost down.
Been back and forth with Scosche for over a month trying to find a Silver/ Gunmetal and to no avail. There suggestion was to have it color matched. I even referred them to this thread. I noticed the thumbnails, on CarID, were finally corrected. When I first purchased the kit, there was an obvious silver picture. In the end it's annoying and have to spend more money on color matching. Probably getting into JDM money by then. My radio is available the May 16th so I will just make it happen. When it's finally done, I will post pics.
I upgraded the radio / electronics last year and initially ordered the Metra kit but it wasn't for me and ended up going with the JDM in silver which turned out really nice.
Thanks for the post, I wonder when Scosche came out with that kit? Definitely looks like a HUGE quality improvement over the metra kit.
And it even looks like the temperature **** turns!
Definitely time for an update to the shopping list, it looks lots better than the metra one.
Looks like they have 6 versions, 3 colors and dual/single climate control
Update after some research:
So, street price on the Scosche kit is about $210, and since it comes with a wiring harness ($10) and steering wheel adapter ($40), it's equivalently price to the metra trim kit, and for the solid buttons and twist climate control, definitely worth it. If you're doing an install with the bose amplifier, it looks like you'll still want the ROEM-NIS2 though.
Anyone confirmed that ROEM-NIS2 is needed and will work with Scosche kit? Anything else other than antennae adapter needed?
FYI I signed up for Scosche spam to get 15% discount code, and it has applied in the cart. Must be used w/in 7 days. I'm getting black to avoid color mismatch - tech pretty much told me not to trust the color match due to "fading".
