Navi - Non Navi Double Din Kit

So I have a Navigation 2005 and I want to install a non navigation jdm double din trim, but I have to modify it. (I looked on ebay and amazon and all I saw was non navi versions).
I saw Wrathernaut's post https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...-vehicles.html and was wondering if I should just do it myself.
Do you guys think im over thinking it and I should just do it, or find another option to get it cut?
Just seeing if you guys have experience with it, and if it was a breeze and im over thinking it or I should look around.

And since it has to get installed (obviously), do you guys think I should have a shop install it, or do it myself. Got no experience with electrical wiring, but I have a cousin who could help me with this.

Sorry for no reply on this for a while, but if you have the long hacksaw blade, it's a simple DIY.

If you're capable of getting to southern Arizona, I can do the install with you. Especially if you send the wiring harnesses that need to be soldered up ahead of time, it's a very fast install. If the JDM navigation trims aren't available anymore, I can still do the modification if you cover shipping both ways too.
