My GPS SCREEN WENT BLANK WHILE INSTALLING A NEW GPS

Hey Guys,

I tried installing a new gps version on my infinity 2010 G37x, I want to say that by trying so, I messed up the car gps computer program. My screen went blank, radio does not work and zero gps prompts, including bloothtooth. Not sure how to fix it. Are there special buttons to re program the system.
any help will be greatly appreciated guys, thank you.

Where did you get the software DVD from, I'm guessing you got a version for the wrong car.

How certain are you that the vehicle is actually a 2010 model year? Don't go off the vehicle registration you have to use the VIN number, 10'th digit is the model year, 9 = 2009, A = 2010, B = 2011.

EDIT: The reason it matters is 2007-2009 uses a different update system, still requires a DVD but it has to be done with a Consult tool.

2010 G37x.

Thanks for responding to my question/situation.
my car year and model is 2010 G37X.
I got the DVDs 2015 GPS. So I try installing it and after installing the DVD, it asked me about making the changes or change program and then it went blanck. It did say that not possible to rewrite the or copy data. Not sure what to do.

Yeah you got the wrong one, 2015 will not work in 2010.

Get the correct disc, try it, hopefully you didn't brick the HDD but I imagine it will still be fine.

I think you need the disc for 2010-2013.

EDIT: You definitely need to check that VIN number digit I was talking about, you cannot just go off the registration year since cars get on the showroom 3 -4 months prior to their model year release.

A G37 sedan sold in October 2009 will technically be a 2009 G37 even though it might REALLY be a 2010 chassis according to the VIN number. Opposite applied as well, maybe the dealership couldn't sell the car until March of 2011 and it sat on the lot for over a year, the registration would say 2011 G37 even though it's a 2010 chassis.

Production year is what matters when buying parts for your vehicle, not when the dealership finally sold the vehicle and it was registered. Always verify with the VIN number.

If it's actually a 2009 then it uses a different disc than the 2010-2013.

Hello again. I CHECKED the VIN number and effectively the Vin Number haa an A on the 10th Digit. I guess i have to try getting the 2010 maps version and see if it could reprogram itself. Thanks i will try that.

Awesome, hopefully someone else will chime in about any experience they have with the newer nav systems. I'm going to move this thread over to the audio/visual/electronics subforum because that's sort of where it belongs and it will probably get more views there.

@Wrathernaut any experience with this type of problem?

No, no experience with this specifically.

Basically though, every bit of diagnosis of that system requires the CONSULT-III dealer tool.

What does that mean exactly?
if I pay the dealer for 2010 navigation system, and it doesn't work then I have to pay extra for a diagnosis???

Thanks for the input guys.

I would get the correct DVD and try that first, 2008-2009 had a HDD that required the dealership Consult-III to program the NAV but that changed with the 2010 model year.

What he's saying is that the diagnostic procedure for 2010 is not something that you can really do by yourself if it DVD doesn't work. It would require a trip to Nissan so they can run the diagnostic software via Consult-III.
