Added a sub to my factory BOSE - problems?
Hey guys so I had a shop wire the 05 G35 coupe to add a subwoofer and amp to the factory Bose system. Everything seemed ok, but I noticed that when I adjust the fade and balance, the subwoofer only produces sound when the setting is in the middle or towards one side.
For example if I set it all the way front and right, no sub sound. All the way front left, sub sound.
So they must have only tapped in for a signal on one of the speakers. They didnt use a LOC, so I'm not exactly sure how they did it.
Is this ok, or could this cause problems?
I blew 2 subs in the last 3 weeks and I'm wondering if this is related... im running out of patience and money on subwoofers lol.

Yep I saw the write up and was going to do it myself, but I've been working a ton and said screw it, I'll pay to have it done.
So I've got another new sub in, Alpine Type R 12" 2ohm dvc 1000w rms, Amp is a Hifonics Brutus 2500.1D 2500w rms.
Wired the sub to 4 ohms so the amp should be putting 850w RMS to it at 4ohm. Tuned it correctly this time via multimeter.
So far so good, sound is cleaner than it was at 1 ohm. Might just keep it this way.
