Door speaker fit for my son's '05 G35 sedan (non-Bose)

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!
As stated, my son's car is a 2005 G35 Sedan A/T (non-Bose). I want to replace/upgrade the front door speakers because his FL speaker is already rattling. I'm also gonna install a 12" sub with an amp to give it a nice kick. Unfortunately I'm not going thru the hassle to install a new head unit since I already read what is required and it seems just the face plate with the climate control swap is more expensive that the head unit I would purchase. I already did the Bluetooth to the XM radio input mod to the stock radio so he can hook up his iPhone via Bluetooth and replaced the 1" tweeters up front a while back. My goal is to find some decent door speakers that would give some crisp highs (which the stock is seriously lacking) so the bass from the 12" won't over-power it. I know is going to be a challenge to get a good sound from that stock head unit with just a bass/treble level adjustment, but hopefully if i can set up an EQ app on his iPhone to run together with his Apple music to compensate (god I wish Apple had the Poweramp EQ app on its store). Anyways...the issue I'm having is that for his specific non-Bose model I'm unsure if the door speakers are 6.5" or 6.75". I searched this forum and all I see is 6.5" but web searching I get on some sites that it might be a 6.75". I'm not worrying too much on modifying the mount cuz I have the tools to do it but to get some direct fit would be nice or at least get closer to the true size so modding is to a limit. I'm also unsure if modding is enough or i would need some type of adapters. I could just go and open up the door panel on his car to see but this is going to be a Xmas gift and I don't want to ruin the surprise, plus he don't live with me. I would really appreciate some info on this. Thank you all!

Those speakers are 6.5”. Just make sure whatever speaker u get is a 4 ohm speaker. (Most aftermarket speakers are).

U will need an adapter to mount the speaker to. I have used these in my car:
Amazon Amazon

As for which speakers are good….everyone has their own opinion. I know a lot of people have gone with Infinity Kappa speakers but I havent kept up with all the new stuff, so there might be better. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Thank you for your reply. I'm just a bit confused cuz Crutchfield says "oversized" 6.75" for the standard (non-Bose) model for the car. I also read the same on another site. Everywhere else I see 6.5" but not extensively explained for which audio system model. On another note...it shouldn't matter the size if I do purchase these adapters. Thank you very much for the link!
