Fitment of xenar in oem navi housing, anyone have the dimension?
Anyone install xenar 700TSV in the oem navigation housing? If so is it diffcult to make it fit and what needs to be done? Also, anyone know the dminison of the navi housing? My main concern is since the oem housing is design for 6.4" lcd it is too small for the 7" xenarc where it only expose part of the touchscreen.
anyone can help?
Thx

digitalwheelz screen is great product but I want more OEM fit and finish. Anyone have any experinces or can take a measurement of their oem screen housing dimension? I wish to know the inner frame size where the acutal screen is exposed.
Thx for any help or suggestion

Hm, noone's done this? I'd like to buy a xenarc touchscreen and mount it in a stock navi popup assembly. I know it would cost more than the digitalwheels solution. (I currently do not have the stock popup, there was a member on here a while back that sourced the correct parts and part #'s to do this, if someone could find that, it would be helpful too)
thanks
thanks
I remember seeing that post too, but I can't find it either.
I don't remember the final outcome, but remember parts alone were around $600 and besides getting the lcd to fit you'll also have to figure out what to do with the circuitboard that attaches to the display. The xenarc ribbon cable that attaches the LCD to the other electronics is only 6" and I don't think you'll be able to fit it in with the lcd in the stock housing. I can't with the digitalwheelz housing and its bigger then the stock one. Not saying it can't be done, but you'll have to get creative. THe other issue I had with the stock parts is you'll also have to do something about the button holes that are normally filled in with the nav electronics.

Thanks GOC, your v2 are looking really good. Big kudos for you.
BTW, anyone thinks the new motorized VGA can fit into the cubby? I know a member here did it with an different unit and it was 6.5" deep, but this MTS12000 is 7.5" deep. Anyone recently took apart their console can tell me rather you think it'll fit or not?
here's the spec for the unit

If you have an '03 or an '04 then in will be harder to replace the nav screen with a different screen then it would be with the '05. The 2003's and 2004's have 6.5" nav screens while the 2005's are now 7".

Now if you angle a headunit so it doesn't lay flat you can eek out a tiny bit more of space from the cubby hole, maybe as much as an inch, but I would say even that is optimistic since the top front of the center console is curved inward too so your fighting a losing battle as you angle it up more. The only way that the other people fit headunits in is by cutting either the AC ducts behind it or by cutting out part of the head unit below it.
I've seen the MTS12000 and its a beast. I don't know what the internals look like but I know theres a TV tuner built into it to that I'm sure takes up quite a bit of space. It does have a configurable angle on it so you can mount it semi vertically if you figure out the space issues.
BTW I have a Xenarc 700TSV that I am probably going to sell.... I'd like to get $355 shipped. I have used it since May 5th. Mint condition! (I also have brand new, in the box, double din A/C controls) crai6m4ck@hotmail.com
Thx once again.
I search but couldn't find any thread discussing cutting into the AC vent, what are the outcomes? I hear sometime ago that this only affects the rear passenger (the vent underneath the front seats)?
crai6m4ck, a new 700tsv is about the same price. how much do you want for the a/c? I may consider going the DD route

As for the Xenarc screen... Make an offer. The A/C controls I had to order from J's Garage in Japan and it was a pain. No other place had it in stock and every place was back ordered. Finally got it after 3 weeks and it cost me $261.97. I would like to recoup as much money as possible. It is still in original packaging. Once again make a reasonable offer. Or I'll let both go for $530.00 shipped
