2003 G35 Seden – HVAC & Audio Controls Not Working, Can I Fix with Head Unit Upgrade?
I have a 2003 G35 Seden, and recently the climate control and audio functions on the center console have stopped responding completely. No buttons work — I can't control the A/C, radio, or anything from the head unit. I can't fix it.
I'm wondering: if I replace the OEM head unit with an aftermarket one (preferably with Bluetooth), would that potentially restore control over the HVAC system as well? Or are the A/C controls completely separate?

Coupe, Premium package, sport suspension
The HVAC controls are integrated into the head unit. They are a well-known failure point. You will need to track down:
- a working OEM head unit (risky with likely the same outcome)
- a JDM double din faceplate that fits your model with the correct controls (need to make sure it's for sedan and not coupe) and then follow Wrathernaut's install sticky;
- a Metra aftermarket double din with controls (ugly) and Wrathernaut's info

I’m now leaning toward finding a proper JDM double din setup like you mentioned. Just need to make sure it’s for the sedan version. Appreciate the guidance!
