Homelink
I'm having a little difficulty with the homelink, in terms of its usage anyways. Wondering if someone can help.
If I program the homelink to my G35, then the control box outside of the garage where you can punch in the code to open the garage doesn't work. If I re-learn the control box, then the homelink in the car doesn't work.
It apparently is a learning system where I have to hit the learn button on the system, then go in the car and hit the homelink button a few times. Anyone have any ideas on how to correct this?
Thx.

Re: Homelink
I have a Sears unit with rolling codes. This is what I had to do...
Program the button on the homelink with your normal garage door opener. That's all you've got to do with the homelink. Now you've got to get your garage door to recognize the homelink transmitter, and for that, you've got to read your garage door opener manual. For mine, I had to hold the homelink button and hold a button on the opener. I did it myself by getting my girlfriend to press the homelink button and I climbed a ladder to press the button on the unit. The light on the opener blinked when it was done. Every opener is different. It may be that your garage door opener will only allow 2 devices to be programmed to open it, thus you can open it with any 2 of the little remote, homelink, and control box, but not all 3. Again, read the manual, as it's probably an issue with that.
Also, if any of you have remote-controlled lights on your house, you can probably use the homelink buttons and program one to cut the lights on. Maybe everyone knew that, but I didn't. When I get home, I can cut the lights on AND open the garage now.
