I love the solobarics. In my previous car (which i've taken out and plan on using in my sedan) i had solobaric L5 12" w/ xtant 600.1 amp. With the surface area of a 15" but in the space of a 12" in a sealed box was perfect. Plus w/ the solobarics the box size can be so much smaller. Total interior size on my box was 1cuft. Amazing product. Now I'm just trying to figure out where to put the sub...

The subs are nice, the amps are questionable.

If you're doing the 12L7, then I recommend doing just one and building a large slot ported enclosure. I think the box has to be about 2.5 cubic feet, but I can't remember what the port volume has to be. I know someone above said that the solobarics are great because you can put them in small enclosures, but the problem with that is you lose a lot of bass extension. If you want just mean bass I would go with the large ported enclosure.

A ported box would be louder, however, there is probably not enough room to fit one in the G. 1 L7 in a regular box with a lot of power should be very loud. I don't think the ported is necessary.

I currenty have two Phoenix Gold amps installed in the car and am waiting on a sub box for an S10L7. My friend, an installer at a stereo shop, told me this will thump really hard. Not as much as my two previous 12 inch Infinity Perfects, but I never had the gains turned up on those anywase.

I'd suggest a nice high power amp and run lots of juice to 1 sub. If that is not enough add another one later on.

The reason I suggested a ported enclosure is because he wanted to do 2 subs. I was giving him a different configuration, instead of just doing 2 subs in sealed enclosure. Because a sealed box for 2 L7s would be almost as big as a ported enclosure for a single L7. Plus we don't know how much trunk space he is willing to sacrifice. Many people think more subs is better and that isn't always the case. Sometimes its better to have less subs with more box volume per sub.
