How hard does one 10w6v2 in a 4080 box hit?

I am going to be buying a G35 soon and started looking towards upgrading the stereo. I was hoping to keep my 2 12inch Alpine Type R subs but trunk space is limited, and I don't want to lose the entire trunk so I figured it's best to go with a 4080 box. So how hard does a 10w6v2 with the JL 500/1w amp hit? Was also thinking on going with a mlg9770's dual 10 box.

ive heard AWESOME reviews on the 4080, but never heard it personally...

the mlg box is really ONE 10" box, the airspace is 0.80cubic feet for the entire box, any 10" sub that requires 0.40 cubic feet of airspace would be crap!

i think they might both sound the same cause they both have similar airspace, it all depends on what type of look youre going for i guess!

I've got that exact setup, and it hits very hard. More than pleased with the results.

Maybe I should go with the MLG box since it can hold 2 10's, which should sound/hit better than 1 right?

Not necessarily. 1 10" sub in the proper cabinet can easily outperform 2 10" subs in a 'box.'

WOW! you dont ever read posts in your own thread!!!

if you read my post above, i mentioned thats its really made for one 10" sub, not two, the ovreall airspace is 0.80, which is even smaller than the 4080 box...

The box weighs 12-14lbs. depending on which grill you opt for.

Thanks, 4080

Well, maybe, but, even if it were linear (which it is not), the 10w6v2 is like having 1000 hp, and 2 of them would be like 2000 hp. Sure, it's better, but you don't really need 2000 hp when 1000 hp is more than the rest of the car can handle anyways.

My point is that the single 10w6v2 with a JL 500/1 amp driving it puts out more bass than the rest of the system can put out other frequencies, and thus anything more is more or less a waste. Unless of course, you want to play pure bass and nothing else.
