What speakers fit in the rear panel (6.5")?
I have searched this to death and haven't found the exact answer...so here it goes:
I know the depth is shallow on the rear panel (not the rear shelf 6X9) and some 6.5" speakers dont fit.
What is the maximum depth of the speaker for it to still fit?
Can you guys give me some examples of some good speakers that fit there?
Thanks

I think Rudy is right. Most will fit it depends on how good your installer is. There is a post saying that Infinity Kappa 63.5i will not fit. THIS IS WRONG!! I just had a pair installed at my local Tweeter on Sunday. The installer did say something about using some kinda ring or something, but he did get them to fit. I beleive that any speaker 2.5inches or shallower will fit. The Kappas are 2 5/16" or 2 3/16", cant remember..Anyway they fit..hopw this helps
There is a metal brace that inhibits the mounting depth of the back seat side panel. There was a post that you can get around that by placing a 2x4" on the metal brace and hammering the 2x4" towards the outside of the car to collapse the brace. This will give you adequate depth.
I was the one that posted that my 63.5i's would not fit and I settled for Eclipse 6.5"s that were shallower but this was before I knew that you could get around that brace.
hope this helps...

I installed diamond audio M-361i in the rear and they have a mounting depth of 2.5". I did not need to bang the metal behind (but it's not a bad idea now that it's mentioned). I did need to space the speaker forward about 1.25 inches (I used the stock metal ring and long bolts) so that it was positioned in the same spot as the stock Bose - flush with the covering panel. This barely left enough room in the back.
Anybody think these will fit in the rear side speaker panels? (05' Coupe)
http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?...=Specs&cur=USD
mounting depth = 3.6"
I want to power these with a NINe.2X as Midbass speakers along with a set of eDi-6500s powered by another NINe.2X in front doors.

or maybe I should put the EU-700s in the rear deck? what do you think Rudy?
Thanks!
