Need some Sub-woofer feedback from you guys
Ok I am thinking of putting a sub in the trunk but I dont want my G to become a getto blaster! I just want some nice bass to take over where the stock systems cuts out. I dont want my car to rattle like crazy and I plan on sticking with the stock bosae highs. my thoughts were an Alpine powered JL10W3 v2. Sealed box, facing the floor.
Has anyone installed just a sub with the fatory highs? If so how does it sound? Is there a Lot of rattling outside the car? Also what kind of set up do you have? And finally where did you tap into the stock system to get a clean signal?
I appreciate any and all help before I make my decision.. Thanx you guys!

isn't that an inconvenience to have it in the middle compartment? i like mine 'cause it's underneath the steering column right next to that lever you pull to adjust the steering wheel height. i'll post pics tomorrow if you're interested in that.

Weslutes, can you post some better pics, explain how it is wired into the factory reciever and what it is? It looks pretty compact and removable, which is a big concern for me. How integrated is it with the Bose? Please tell us as much as possible!
Thanks!

Re: Need some Sub-woofer feedback from you guys
You will get a lot of rattles on the rear deck. They'll come from the rear deck plastic cover vibrating. Mine did this at even low bass levels and I had to take the cover off, put some carpet padding between the metal and the plastic. I also went into the trunk and dynamatted the rear deck in the trunk. Your trunk lid might also rattle. I had to dynamat that also. Finally, there is a clear plastic/rubber tube that lies against the 3/4 panel on the passenger side that will vibrate against the panel. You can just tie that down or cover it with some foam to keep it from rattling.

Has anyone explored the possibility of replacing the stock subs with something better, say a pair of 8's or a pair of 10's mounted with an adapter? I just was thinking an Infinite baffle system would give us good bass and no space issues.
The RX is just about sold, I have been driving the G for about a month!!!!
