AM Reception

Just had Huper Optik ceramic tint installed on my 05 Coupe last week and I noticed some degradation in AM radio quality. It gets even worse (lots of static and barely distinguishable) when the rear defroster is on. I noticed this only occurs on the lower frequency AM stations, but I'm positive this problem wasn't there before the tint job. I'm supposed to take it into the dealership to have them check it out, but I'm already expecting them to blame the tint. They didn't seem to believe me when I explained that Huper has no metal. Does anyone have any ideas? Is the antenna just super-sensitive to anything touching it? Or is there any other option to boost the reception? The tint is great otherwise, but this issue is really bugging me (gonna bug me more when basketball season starts and the broadcast is full of static). Thanks guys.

Should've gone the Formula One (Pinnacle series) route. No interference with radio reception, radar, etc. Most other tints will interfere with signals...

I don't understand how Formula One would be any different, considering they are both ceramic. How much did you pay for your tint, if I may ask?

Got frustrated with the static and had the huper on my rear window stripped. Well I'll be damned, there was no more static and no interference when using the defroster. Read up some more on the Formula One Pinnacle tint and got the rear window redone for about $100. There were no ill effects. I'm a bit pissed that I spent so much on the Huper and it not working as advertised. I'm convinced that there's some conductivity in their tint.
