can you dremel/sand instead of double din?

was jsut thinking about this. can you dremel/sand the plastic face plate of the g instead of putting in the double-din jdm part and having to sodder the ac for dual climate? like, lets say you dremel the plastic cover. is the mounting behind the cosmetics there to accomidate an aftermarket double-din headunit?

i really want to change out my hu, but i have no mechanical patience/ability. is this an easier way around things or will this just f stuff up?

you could do it. just make sure everything is lined up. measure everything to the millimeter. dremel then sand the edges

lol

The kit has 2 (main) parts.
1. The trim (what you're referring to)
2. A/C controller.
The OEM HU & A/C controls are integrated onto one board.
When you remove the HU you also loose ths A/C

The A/C board is the biggest part of the conversion kit.

As I recall, one guy here did just that before lets say if you did decent job of dremel/sand it, how about the AC controller? you can NOT cut it, so why not just spend extra 60 bucks and get that new dash peice?
