The JL slash series is just how they name the amp, like we spoke I have a 500/1 for my subs and looking at a 450/4 for my components.

As you can see it's 500 "slash" 1, hence the name.

If you have these you don't need the LOC since it can accept the wires from the factory HU.

So is it as simple as, plug all the speakers into the NEW "slash" amp, plug the amp into the BOSE HeadUnit, and your done???

From what I know, yeah pretty much, but you're going to need a wiring diagram that tells you what wire is what.

Simple in the old "$1 to draw the cahlk mark and $10,000 to know where" sort of way, I guess.

There's more to it after that, but yeah, you don't need any balanced to single-ended converter.

That's what I did! Speaker wires coming out of the HU converted into RCAs. RCAs into JL 500/5 amp. Speaker wires going to the speakers connected to the 500/5 speaker outputs. Works like a champ, though the sound quality is poor because I'm using the stock Bose speakers on the aftermarket JL amp. But it works because the JL "slash" amps accept balanced level inputs and speakers with impedences of anywhere from 1.5 to 4 ohms. It's like they were designed for cars with Blose! lol.. sorta...

They sound really quiet... because they're sitting on my desk. We've had AWFUL weather here the past like 7 days... but we needed it because we've been in a drought and have been asked to conserve water. Regardless, I'm going to try and cut some new rings this evening and get at least the driver's side woofer wired up.

The tweeters look like they are going to be a challenge to mount in the stock mirror sail location.

Well, it's not exactly impressive, but I'll tell you that the tire barely fit. The bolt is right up against the side of the hub hole. I had to platform it up ~2.75" to clear the back edge of the wheel well. It's not exactly parallel with the back wall to clear the bolt for the cover. The extended wood support is because I used the existing bolt stubs (4X). Anyway, it cleaned up ok and is covered, which was the point in my case. Golf clubs still fit, at least for now .

It seems that you have the concept down but it's a little more involved than the plug and play that you are implying. Aside from the lack of fine tune features that stock Bose HU offers, it does sound pretty decent with aftermarket amps/speakers.
