“We only told one network,” Joswiak said. “You see that we have the top two shows on TV, as well as the top shows on the Disney Channel. We couldn't really start off with a better foot forward. This is just the beginning."

This is Joswiak hinting at future deals which may even be going on now. The Disney/ABC deal is just a test of the market to see how it goes. There is no doubt in my mind that there will be more shows coming to the iTMS, despite whatever you have to say about advertising losses. Maybe having a ton of people paying $2 for the show will make them more money in the long run or something, I don't know.

My point is simple. If the networks wanted to do it, why haven't they be now? The technology for some company to come along and put up a site where you can go and legally download TV shows from the networks has been around for years. I don't see how porting this technology to a portable device makes it any more appealing to a network, TV show producer, etc.

And my point was also simple. They HAVE done it. Disney/ABC have just done exactly what you're arguing against. And why haven't they done it already? Because there was no system that could make it work. Now that they're partnered with Apple and iTunes they're buddying up with a proven successful digital content downloading system. It reduces their risk and draws people to their content.

You said "If the networks wanted to do it, why haven't they by now?" and I replied that they are doing it now, so they must want to do it. I never said you were an idiot, but with that belligerent attitude I'm starting to wonder.
