pac aux-pod? does it work? any install instructions for 05 6mt?

hey everyone. great site. just got my '05 6mt 3 weeks ago and i'm loving it.

quick question... does anyone know if the pac aux-pod works for the 6mt with the bose head unit?

should i just abandon the quest for getting the steering wheel controls to work with the ipod and just go with the aai-nis like everyone else?

also, anyone have a step-by-step for the '05 6mt coupe pac aai-nis install?

here are my specs since everyone seems to post theirs :
2005 lakeshore slate 6mt, premium pkg, aero, clear corners... holding off on putting on snow tires for 1 more month (got 17inch wheels and 225/50/17 and 225/55/17 dunlop graspics 2 from tirerack)

Yes you should. There is the SWI-X from PAC which makes it "Possible," but you'll need an IR receiver somewhere between it and your iPod. Most, but not all, have decided agaist the trouble.

Try THIS. Sure it's for an 04' and an auto, but the comprehensiveness alone will make it useful. The fundamentals are the same, wiring, order of dis/assembly, etc... with some different dash elements like the clock finisher and whatnot.

Welcome aboard and good luck. In anticipation of the next questions, run a search for AAI-NIS. There is a wealth of great info on the what, how, and why of iPod integration.

Those instructions are good but it's way more than you need to do for an '05. The only thing that you need to take apart on an '05 is the console and it comes apart very easily. Unfortunately there isn't a DIY for an '05 that I know of. You can probably use part of those instructions. If you skip directly to the part where they start taking apart the console, you'll probably be fine. The screw that holds down the top part of the aluminum bracket is located right below the clock. You'll need to remove the plastic piece on the dash below the clock to get to it.
