Attention: G35 Ipod users

We are in the process of custom fabricating a built in Ipod mounting system for a ‘05 G35. This will be located in the center dual cup holder location. With this mounting system you will still be able to charge your Ipod and plug in the headphone jack for those of you who are using a Aux in mini jack without any wires showing. You can also use the existing factory roll cover to protect your Ipod from theft when in place. We are considering offering these in 3 options. Like a best, better, good. They will all be able to do what we described above the only difference is the materials used and the finish.

Option 1 mount will be matched in a black low profile wrap to match the center council with a wrapped mounting base.

Option 2 solid wrapped mounting like option 1 base but the finish on the top will be an aluminum laminate that matches the color and grain pattern or your factory dash.

Option 3 aluminum finish like option 2 but the base will be frosted plexiglass which is edge lit to either your instrument cluster or a few other color choices. We will get some pictures up as soon as we can of option 3 which is currently in progress.

What do you guys think of this and is there a demand for something like this? All feedback is greatly appreciated. Any questions feel free to send our way if the description above is not clear please let us know.

We are fabricating this because we feel for such a great looking car as a G35 is deserves a proper Ipod mounting option that does not take away from the look of the interior but enhance it. Thanks for you time.

i'm definitely interested. it's hard to say which option is best without some photoshop mockups or something to compare it with the interior. i have the graphite interior, so something dark/aluminum would work well.

We will get some pictures up for you guys within the next week, thanks for your interest and patience. By the way we can also cover the top in a carbon fiber or wood burl laminate depending on preference and of course the aluminum as well.

This can be used in any '03-'05 coupe or sedan, but it MUST be a manual with the slide cover over the cup holders. The automatics have a different style center council. We can do one for automatics too but we need to get one in the shop to take measurements and create one first. If the demand is there we will look into doing one in the near future. Do most of you have automatics or manuals? Here are some example of the laminates below. "Note: this is just some of the optional covering this is not the entire mounting system" We will post the entire system installed shortly. Thanks again for all your interest and feedback.

Brushed aluminum "matches the G35 dash color and grain pattern"

Carbon Fiber

Wood Burl

Marble

I am sure interested in this. What I am not sure of, is there an aux input on the Bose system for hard wireing the IPod? I did this in my truck with an Alpine head unit.

Could one of you who have an automatic measure the size of the dual cup holder area behind the shifter just length and width, please. Thanks.
