Elemental Designs and Zenclosure Spacers for coupe
Elemental Designs and Zenclosure Spacers for coupe
I just replaced my Focal Polyglass V2 door speakers ( one blew) with the Elemental Designs components , using the Zenclosure door spacers, and all I can say is WOW!.
The eDi's have a MUCH lower bass extension than the Focals, and the top end is smoother and less harsh. These speakers thump, but still retain high SQ. A definite upgrade (even though they are cheaper!). The Zenclosure spacers fit perfectly ( I had already drilled the 3 mounting holes in the doors for the Focal install). I put some weatherstripping between the spacer and the door itself to assure a tight fit.
Since I already have an eD 12" sub and Nine.2 amp I am thinking about replacing my Phoenix Gold amp for the doors with an eD also. I highly recommend their products.

I got the 6500's. After some tuning of the eq today, I'm even more impressed.
They are smoother, deeper, and louder than the Focals (which I thought were great), without so much of the sizzle at the top end (attributable to the silk dome tweeter rather than the titanium coated Focal?).
They seem to be more "integrated" with each other...the woofer and tweeter seem to blend better with each other, providing a more unified presentation (now I sound like a sales rep for eD).
