I had to disconnect two plugs ( a small one and a larger one) from the radio(the only two that match the cable) then bigger one that went into the radio goes back into the third FEMALE plug on the cable. I was confused at first becuse when I first looked at the back of the radio there were NO open cavities for the two plugs on the cable, but eventually figured it out.
Its fairly easy.. the hardest part for me was getting to the screw at the top of the radio.

Thanks, the manual says nothing about the small plug so I didn't even use it at first.

Everything is working fine for me now, except I got scratches on my console because I didn't put a towel between pieces of the head unit...

I installed my PA11-NAS today and I am very disappointed with the sound quality with the iPod Video attached. The amount of background noise at low volume levels (<8) is unacceptable.
Anyone else experience the same problem?
Thanks!

I adjusted the amp gain down which helped, but I'm still not totally satisfied. The "noise" sounds like electrical interference with a rhythm or pattern (Not engine whine).
I'll double check my connections tomorrow.

What does the small plug do ?

My HU recently gave me a "CD ERR F3" so i had to have it replaced. The dealer told me they would hook the usaspec cable up for me when they put the new one back in, but I just got a call saying that its not compatible with my HU. I assume he didnt know what he was doing... He looked online and of course since it doesnt show as compatible with the 03's he gave up.

So it looks like I will be installing this one myself.

I sucessfully install my PA11 today. Took right about an hour. I put my PA11 under the ashtray/radio area and have the cable running into the upper "glove box". Had to drill a 1/2" hole to get it in, but now I have the iPod wrapped in a town in there... out of sight, out of mind. One thing I did notice with the PA11, was that if you only have 4 playlists created, and you select CD 5, it gets stock on that song and you can't change CD's. You can just power cycle and fix it, but still annoying. Other then that... I love it... AND I love just being able to lift out the center console shifter assembly to access the unit for RCA plugs, or dip switch changes.

Thanks for all the helpful pics and knowledge.

God Bless

Joe Mac

word of advice for those with 60gb videos who are getting the Proclip, get the one with adjustable holder, it's a few dollars more but worth it

I have an invisible shield on my ipod and the standard holder is way too tight, so hard to slide in and out, plus it was starting to peel away my shield

the adjustable one is so much better and holds the ipod fine w/o it moving around at all, plus now you have the option of using a skin with your ipod if you like

Thumbs up Intalled my PA11-NIS today...

It took me 3 hours from start to finish. I went real slow and cautious so I wouldn't scratch anything. Thanks to all the info supplied by everyone on the this message thread. It helped alot. I installed it where the navigation would normally go. It sounds awesome.

I had one small issue. When I was about to put the stereo back in place I noticed some static coming from the speakers. I checked the PA11 box and noticed that the ipod cable did not fit all the way in. The face plate was blocking the complete insertion of the cable. I enlarged the face plate hole and it inserted perfectly.
