Eclipse AVN 6600 and iPC-106
Eclipse AVN 6600 and iPC-106
Does anyone know when the new eclipse head unit listed above is going to be available? and would anyone know if the iPC-106 "IPOD Interface" going to be compatible with the AVN5435? I do know it will for the AVN5495. and pricing if anyone knows? the only info i was able to find is on www.eclipse-web.com
I have a question in to them on that myself... they just sent me another report with every ship date on it EXCEPT the 6600.
I can tell you that you can use the Peripheral iPod2Car with the 5435, but without any text on screen.

Call Eclipse, they should be able to tell you. It will probably be around 1800 to 2000. Crutchfield has the 5500, call them too. If you are looking at the 5495, I would wait if you can. In the fall they may be releasing the 7905 (from Japan) and it should be Ipod and Sirius ready!
By the way, I played with the Avic -Z1 at the Motor Trend Auto show--real sweet!

the thing im most interested in is the ipod adaptor....i know the 6600 shows texts and stuff and have full control over the ipod...debating if i should sell my 5435 to get the 6600 or just get the ipod adaptor if it works for the 5435.
I just got Eclipse's 2006 catalog. I am going to email them this week about the Ipod adapter for the 5435. Looks like they dropped the small dvd player, but the brochure says Spring vol1-which leads me to believe that they have more product comming out.
i heard the ipod interface from eclipse is kinda whack, you apparently have to organize all your songs into 6 play lists...which is whack...and you cant scroll through ipod to change song, you have to sit there and click the seek button to get to your song, because it hooks up to the cd changer slot...
i wanted to get it at first, because i have the AVN 5495...and it was compatible but i got my ipod hooked up to the auxilary "VTR" source, which is video, so if i had a Video Ipod i could play my music videos and what not, and it would show up on the screen, and if i played song which has album cover...album cover would show up on screen..
