Memphis Amps???
I've read a few articles on these amps and have seen that there are a
few members that have used Memphis products before.
Could some of our members reply ( ie: el dudinero) as to the quality of these amps.
Are they very efficient? Sound quality? etc...
I have been looking at the Memphis Belle(75Wx4, 1100WX1). It seems to suit what I would want in my sedan.
I know JL makes a 500/5 channel amp. How is it in comparison to the Memphis Belle?
Thanks,
Bill

BigSash,
I'm just starting to plan a system for my sedan. I'm in the very early stages so I thought about looking at some 5 channel amps to start with.
As for speakers,a single J/L 10W6 or 12W6 would be the way to go for me for a sub.
Component wise, nothing in the rear for now, I would want to see how the imaging up front would be like without rear fill. Maybe a set of dedicated mid's later on.
I've looked on the internet at Boston's,, DLS', J/L, MB Quarts( too bright some say), Swiss Audio, Polk, and some others. I have yet to "audition them". Its hard to find certain dealers of these products in Toronto.
Dynamatting the doors and trunk for sure.

I listen to groups like Rush, Boston, Yes, Pink Floyd, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai,
lots of progressive stuff.
I've looked into the 4080 box. Its a great product but I don't think I could put a 12" J/L into it. I know a 10" will fit so maybe a custom box would be the way to go for what I want. My sedan is a 2003, so there is a fittment issue with the bigger sub box.
Yes, Toronto is a great place. I'm glad that I live here.
The G35 Toronto chapter is a great bunch of guys and gals. I'm glad to be a member at G35 Driver.

start here:
http://www.cardomain.com/brand?id=JL...m/brand?id=JLA
read the comparison of the 12w7 and the IDMAXv.3.
then goto imagedynamicsusa.com and check out their tech sheets.

nice. yeah they are reasonably priced brand new @ cardomain, and you get a good warranty. ID's service & support is A++++
I have a set of IDQ 12's that are like 7years old. I sent them in last month out of warranty and they came back better than new! it was out of warranty so for reconing and everything it was $75.00 a piece (including shipping) but so well worth the money.
I also have a set of regular ID12's (their entry level sub). Overall they get louder but don't have the definition of the Q's. The Qs are great I don't think I would mess with anything else.
