avic-d1 - do i need to put a switch on the speed wire?

I have the Avic-D1 (not installed yet), got my wiring harness all modded like the previous avic posts stated (adding wire to harness, and grounding pk brake, etc)

Do I still need to put a switch on the speed wire?
