Pioneer AVIC-D1/AVIC-Z1 with Double Din Conv. (PICS)
Thanks to GRider35c, for info on how to get the missing LED for the DUAL button working.
I mounted the GPS antenna on the right corner of the dash.
Initially I was only using a Scosche NN03 wire harness.
I have now installed an interface adapter and I can tell you that it sounds better. I had a gentle hiss before which is now gone.
This helps you match the gain levels to the bose amp and helps reduce any hissing sound you may have. (not engine whine)
The VSS wire is the white wire with a green stripe on the 10x2 wire harness.

Bout time you picked something, J/K.....
Awesome job on the install and excellent choice on the HU, I have to agree with you in regards to DVD viewing, its one of those cool features that seems to fade a day or two after having it.
Any difficulty with the A/C controller ? Also how is the clearance when the screen is horizontal and the shifter is in park ?

How to watch video and operate NAV while driving with AVIC-D1:

Hopefully you didn't use every wire on the Pioneer wire harness. Find the wire you didn't use, and just pull it out of the harness.
I used the auto mute lead wire. After you pull it out, you will see that the wire has a connector on the end like this...
There is 1 empty slot on the harness next to the ground wire.
Insert this wire into that slot. You should feel it "click" into place...
Ground this wire and the E-brake wire and you're good to go!!

A/C controller wasn't too bad, you will need a fine tip soldering iron. Its harder to remove the pieces from the stock board with out damaging it, than it is re-soldering to the new board.
Also you don't want to damage the stock board incase you want to change back later.
