PhatBox MP3 Player, PAC AAI-NIS 2 Problems.
I have the PhatBox MP3 player (simialar to a Kenwood Music Keg) which plugs into the SAT port in the trunk.
I also recently purchased the PAC-AAI-NIS2 to get audio from my CarPC into my stock BOSE head unit.
However, after wiring everything correctly, and trying all the various settings on the AAI-NIS2 (SAT/NO-SAT switch) and trying all the buttons on my head unit, I have not been able to get my head unit to display the auxilliary source (my CarPC), and output the sound that is coming to the PAC-AAI-NIS2. Does anyone have any suggestions, or know why this might not work?
Thanks
Dave

Do you get sound without the the Phatbox connected?
Is your PC connected to AUX 1 or 2 on the AAI-NIS2?
Try this:
switch to SAT position on AAI-NIS2
select SR2 on your headunit
choose preset 1 for AUX 1
or preset 2 for AUX 2

Thats the thing, I can't select SR2 on the head unit.
I press the CD button, and it cycles back and forth between CD and CD changer (CD Changer is the Phatbox)
The Radio button cycles between FM1, FM2, and AM, nothing else.
Am I just completely missing something?

No, I haven't tried unplugging it yet, but I will this weekend. Digging out the plug from beneath all the carPC and audio equipment is a pain...
Anyone have any ideas?

I had almost the same problem. I finally got around to installing my AAI-NIS2this past weekend. I think my pac unit is defective. My satellite radio works with the unit, BUT it won't go into AUX mode. I go into SR2 and press the presets, but it never goes into aux mode, no matter what preset I go into, it just goes to the station that is preset. And yes I tried all the presets both on SR1 and SR2. But not aux

I can't even get it to go into SR1 or SR2, though. I think maybe the way the PhatBox interfaces with the overall system causes my problems. Anyways, this weekend, I will disconnect the Phatbox, and see if I can get it into SR1 or SR2

Lose, not loose. You people drive me nuckin futs with this loose stuff!
but on a serious note, I would try it w/o sat plugged in. This can help you figure out if the stupid thing is defective or not. From the posts I've read in different places, I get the sense that the AAI-NIS2 got to bypass the QA line at PAC or something
You could probably disconnect the receiver in the trunk instead of the dash, I would think this would accomplish the same thing... unless the AAI-NIS2 magically knows when there is something plugged into it (even when the other end isn't plugged to anything).

I've verified that if the radio detects a "CD Changer" connected to the N-bus input, it will not allow the SAT to work without powering it off and back on again. I suggest updating the Phatbox firmware with the SAT emulation.

Any idea of how to get random play working with the phatbox with the SAT emulation firmware?

Well, I wanted to have volume control with my head unit and steering wheel controls, so I did go to this, using the PAC-AAI-NIS2, and now the computer sound runs through my stock head unit, which is what I wanted. Also, the Phatbox will work now that I chnaged the firmware to the satellite, but it causes some other minor problems, so I ended up removing the Phatbox.
I think I like it better this way, now. However, I do wish the Phatbox would work as it did previously, pretending to be a CD changer, and then the PAC-AAI worked as well, but no luck on that
