System for the coupe
Hey guys,
Need help from all of you audio guys. Im planning on installing a system in my car. The pioneer avic-z1 and along with that 2 jl 10w6 with 2 4080 box. Now my dilema is. I need to know. Which amp to go with? Right now Im looking at two diffrent ampS. One is the jl/1000 and the other is the jl 500/5. I want my system to have a nice thump. Which amp would you guys recommend. Beside these, what else do I need? Wires, etc..? Any input from you guys would really help me out and come to a final decision. Thank you in advance.

IF you are running two 10w6v2's, you need the 1000/1. However, I would recommend not going with two of them. I have one, in a 4080 box, powered by a Jl 500/1, and it is more than enough bass.
Here's what I would recommend:
Go with 1 JL 10w6v2, and a 500/1 amp.
Use the money you saved on that to get a bunch of sound deadening material (Dynamat Extreme is what I used, but there are others)
Use some of the money you saved to get good wiring.
Search on this forum for threads by el_duderino, and others, and you can get a pretty good idea of what you need.
