Hi All, I drive a 03 coupe and this has been my major complaint of its navigation system - it lets me search for nearest POI by category, but not by name. The former is rarely useful as the categories are too few and too broad. I am wondering if the 06 models now have this ability?

For example, I might want to search for the nearest Starbucks. Or the nearest seven-eleven.

Couldnt find this info in the forum. Can't find a navi manual at Inifiniti Publications site either ( www.nissan-techinfo.com ) (only a quick reference guide).

well i have an 05 and in POI i can type in a name and it gives me a list and how far away they are from my current position

 

if I remember correctly, you're right about the damn name thing. but i'll double check after I leave to work.

edit: and I have an 05 with the newest version of the Navi.

 

The '06 is version 7.1 is the newest version (new navigation OS in 2006).
It does have the ability to search POI by name as well as category.
