speaker ohm are different from stock amp
Hey MISTIKMACK!!
I bought the same speakers for over a years now, and haven't got time to install yet. I thought that the infinity speaker are 4 ohm, and the stock amp only output 2ohm. That's why most of the guys install the 4 channel amp. How it sound with stock amp? ANd I just wondering if you install new speakers, with the new amp. Can you still use existing speaker wire, or you have to run new speaker wire.
Thanks a lot, and nice set up,
Ratman

as for the spacers for the front 6.5 mid, do they make a difference in sound? i have a set of boston acoustic pro 6.5 components, but the shop who installed mine did a horrible job mounting the 6.5 min onto my door, their's gaps everywhere allowing air to be coming out. Just wondering if spacers will completely seal it and make a big difference in sound?
Also with these spacers, will the door panel be able to fit back on? I'm afraid that these spacers make it thicker and that you wont be able to fit the door panel back on...
I'm interested in ordering a set of these spacers for my car, this is what i been looking for...

While the Bose amp will put out less power with the higher impedance 4 ohm speakers, most good aftermarket speakers, like the Infinitys, etc. are much more efficient than the stock Bose. So the difference in volume is not that great. Did similar changeout on an Acura with Bose, nice improvement.

I see. How could you get full range out of some 6x9's I would put back there? I have some Pioneer ones that were in another car I want to slap back there. So the Bose amp itself only outputs the low frequencies back there? I think that replacing the bose amp, with something else, such as a JL /6 channel might work?

Replacing the Bose amp is the best thing you can do, IMO. A 5 channel amp, like a JL 500/5, will work nicely. I used to have a 500/5 and I really liked it. But you don't need much sound output in the rear because it's only for fill. Some people only run front speakers and a sub(s).
I prefer to use the rear side panel speakers for rear fill and remove the 6x9's to allow bass from the trunk to enter the cabin easier.

I have a set of DLS Iridiums from my old civic. I was thinking of moving them over to the new G. I decided from the civic that I do like rear fill, and I'd probably be using the 6x9's in the rear.......However...there are those other rear speakers as well.
Am I right though? It IS the Bose amp that is putting out only the low frequencies to the rear, and has nothing to do with the head unit? So then by replacing the amp, I could get full range to the rear 6x9's?
