Circuit City said nothing to plug Neo iOnAux into

I have an 04 6mt sedan without Bose, without Satellite radio installed and without Nav. The unit has a 6 disc in-dash CD changer and a SAT button on the front of the unit. The steering wheel controls power, mode, volume and station/track.

I purchased the Neo iOnAux unit from mp3yourcar.com so I could connect my iPod to the head unit. Circuit City said they could install for $40. Once I got there with the unit they said it was $75 because it wasn't the same as the units they sell (USA spec something or other). I said, WTF, in for a penny, in for a pound ... do it.

Less than an hour later they called and said there was no CDC port on the back of the head unit to plug the Neo unit into. I asked if there was a SAT port and they said ... nothing that matches the cables on the unit you provided. I said button it up and refund my money. Done.

I called mp3yourcar.com today and they issued an RMA for the unit since I told them there didn't seem to be anyway to make this work with my car, but before I send it back ... Does anyone know if this is right? I can't say I trust the Circuit City guys to figure out how to install something like this. I hesitate to pull my dash apart (which is why I turned it over to CC in the 1st place) but if there's a chance I can get this thing to work I'll give it a try this weekend.

Any thoughts?

And again ... this is for a stock unit WITHOUT BOSE and without Nav or Satellite radio installed.

Thanks for any thought spent on this.

This is what you need. It plugs into the jack you would normally use for sat. It will also let you use the steering wheel controls.

Why wouldn't the USA Spec Nissan interface work? I see no reason it wouldn't...

Is there a solution for Bose with Satellite

Is there a cable or option for adding an Ipod connector to an 06 with Bose and XM satellite radio?

Thanks!
Keith

The Neo iOn went back today. I see the Monster Icruze is on back order until late May. I haven't seen a USA spec interface that works with Nissan vehicles at CC or BB. I'll keep looking.

Thanks,

I just looked up the USA Spec Nissan interface on Google. The one at Crutchfield looks IDENTICAL to the Neo iOnAux I just returned. Maybe the guys at CC didn't have a clue what they were doing. OTOH, when I use the Crutchfield iPod interface wizard it says "This item does not work with the factory system in your car". The only option it does show is the Harmon Kardon Drive & Play which doesn't appeal to me at all. Guess I'm SOL.

Uh, I don't think you are SOL, I think you're asking the wrong people.

Neo buys some units from other suppliers to round out their coverage. They get the Icelink for BMWs so I'm not surprised they get the USA Spec for Nissan.

ANy custom shops around there? Any forum members who've done this kind of install around there?
