Well I have a brand new kicker L7 that has been sitting in my house for the last yr or still in the box. I have decided to install it in my new coupe and I have a custom box for it but, I have kenwood excelron 1000x1 amp its 2 yr's old. Im not sure if its enough power to push the L7. I just want to do something with all this stuff rather than just have it continue to collect dust.

Any help would be great!!

 

1000 watts RMS?? If it is, its more than plenty. I was running my 15" L7 in my last car with a old school fosgate punch 500a2. I think that amp pushed about 500-750RMS. It was underpowered but it still hit nice and was louuuud.

 

Im not sure if thats the RMS. I know very little about car audio. I was given the amp and it says 1000x1 on it. I think thats the max power output the RMS I think is like 750 or so. But Im gona install it anyway and see what happens

+1 for the thread above... Not knocking kenwood but I would bet its peak power & 650-750 would be a realistic range of rms output. The real test would be to bench test it to see what exactly it can push. Good luck with it.
