Yes they are this style but I am looking for the CF ones.

Another thing to mention... when I first installed mine they would not compress, and I didn't want to push too hard because it seemed like something would break. I took em over to Randy's and he compressed the dampers against a piece of wood first... after that they compress nice and easy.

They look and work great! Thanks for the DIY.

I installed the hood dampers. They work and look great! Except....
when I open my hood the passenger side up by the windshield clips/rubs the top of my fender. I have check to make sure all the bolts are tight. Do you have any suggestions on how to adjust the left side so it doesn't continue to chip paint every time I open my hood? It happens right at the 'pointy part' of the back, near the windshield, part of the hood.
Thanks!
Roger

loosen the bolts and realign the hood.

glad it worked out for you, binar. 1-2mm doesn't seem like a lot in life, but it sure as hell makes a difference here.

Thanks for this... made the install even easier.

And thanks Caskyline for the dampers. Been wanting these for quite some time.

I'm having a problem with my install. 3 out of 4 of the connecting points are fine. However, one end of the one of the dampening rods WILL NOT fit over ANY ball joint. I've tried the second one on both sides, in both positions and it fits with NO trouble [both ends of the rod on all 4 ball joints]. I try the other dampening rod and one end fits on all 4 ball joints but, not the other. So it's something with that ONE END of one rod and nothing else.

What can I do to resolve this fitment problem?! Ideas?!

Please PM Randy, caskyline, for ideas.... I haven't installed it myself, just did the writeup... He's the expert! (sorry, wish I could help, I'm sure he'll help out once you get a hold of him, he probably installed over 30 of these by now. Also, these were designed/created by him as well.)

Good luck,

John / speedraver

I'll send him a PM and keep my fingers crossed. After seeing your DIY, I knew I could do this. I even have the "advanced tool set" to use. Everything was going well until the VERY end. So I currently have a 1/2 done install right now because of ONE side of ONE of the damper attach points.

This is usually my luck with things though. It could be 49 people in a row have a flawless install/DIY on their car and then mine is a one bad apple with problems
