I had the same issue when I tried to hand compress, but after I installed them they worked fine.

Why are you trying to compress them by hand ? They do not need to be compressed to install.
It can be done but not on the car, I do it to every set before I ship out, but yes it is difficult.

I had heard of people not being able to close their hoods after install but if they compressed them a few times before they reinstalled they worked fine. I eventually got em but it was pretty hard.

the units are defintately stiff and forceful......these units are probably strong enough for steel hoods.

Question

Hey guys,

I have picked up a set of these to install. One question though - the hood bracket on my car has a thick plastic part that goes between the hood and the hood bracket. Do I remove this as I see it is not in any of the photos? My concern is that without this big plastic spacer, the hood won't sit flush.

Yeah, you can remove it. You don't really need it. It pops right off and is not a spacer. You hood should be flush, but if not, you can adjust the bolts that are on your hood & bracket.

I still have 'em - they're on the car... Love 'em (just not the color) - I will be painting at some point so no, sorry I don't want to let 'em go

PM caskyline I think he's still selling them - they are worth his price.

Teins are a hideous color (IMO)... I think they are longer too not sure... I know nothing about the Skylines... these are a great fit, strong, quality and worth the price... that’s all I know.

I think you'd be happy with these. I haven’t heard anyone say there aren’t and tons of people have them.
