I am also assuming I'll have to buy a new bulbs because I doubt the OEM bulb in my 04 lights are orange since they used an orange lense cover.

Looks like I am heading to the auto-parts store!
Correct but dont assume the wires are going to be colorcoded correctly to the bulb you use. Also the 04 might have orange ones. Its hard to find locally the 7443s in orange.

oops typo on my part, I meant to say they were not going to be orange due to the 04's having the orange shield and more than likely still being oem bulbs.

I tried to find a 7443 socket locally but autozone doesnt even list it, so I guess I'll have to look online or scour the junkyards.

chrome/amber 7443

I used the Silver Stealth Titanium Chrome Vision from http://autolumination.com/7443_7440.htm to pass inspection, since I dremmelled out the orange lens on 03 coupe. Now back to LED.

How'd that pass, they look like they put out a white light and not the correct orange...I want orange light emitting 7443 style bulbs. The 06 comes with 7440 orange bulbs whereas the 03-05 lamps more than likely come with clear 7443 bulbs...the bulb isnt what Im trying to track down, I need to get two 7443 sockets.

Ivory, you know of any junker car might I might be able to loot them from?

The pre-06 lights have turnsignals that stay on when the sidemarker lights are on. But it also blinks when you turn on the blinker. Basically it's whether or not you like having the extra light on all the time or just when blinking.

I'm too used to it being on because I obviously have an 04 with OEM lights...not seeing it in the reflections of other cars would make me feel like something is broken.

cthrulies, those chrome dipped 7440 bulbs come in superwhite, is it LED? are these the ones you got? If you have a close up or can describe me how the color is for the superwhite. I am looking for something that will match my HID and halo LED's... which are more on the white side than blue. These are exactly what im looking for. Never knew they had chrome coating bulbs in superwhite. I alway's seen em in amber. Nice!

matching your HID's & halo's

sorry about the confusion nyckid. I used a chrome painted 7443 bulb that lights up amber because the OEM 7443 bulb emits an incandescent white light which is fine for unmodified headlights. I removed that orange lens from my headlights therefore, I had to replace it with a 7443 bulb that emits DOT amber so I could pass Tx. inspection. I went with a chrome painted bulb simply for looks.

Matching your HID's & halo's will require that you use an LED 7440 or LED 7443 bulb depending on your model g. You will need to know the color temp of the HID's and halo's. For example, I replaced my OEM HID's (with a color temp of about 4300K) to VLED's HID 2dr 6000K, turn signals are VLED dual color 7443 LED (6000K) , side markers and clearance lights are VLED 194 bulbs (6000K), and fogs are Luminics krypton H4 5500K.

If you use LED's with a color temp any higher than 6000K they will look more blue. I hope this clears it up.

I no longer have my original 03 headlights so I can't borrow the 7443 sockets from them to modify for use in the 2006 headlights. my question is are the sockets all standard sized so if I buy an aftermarket 7443 socket and modify it , will it fit into the 2006 headlight housing?

Would this work with the same ,modifications, T20 Plastic Wedge Based Sockets 9" Pigtail 16 Gauge Wire (7443 3 Wire Dual Circuit) socket found near the bottom of the page?

Yes. With slight modification to one of the notches. Also keep in mind if you are using switchback LEDs, the green is the ground on the socket not the black.

Guys,

I need some asap help.

I wired up my 2006 Projectors as specified here:

DIY: 7443 Turn signal mod for 06 housings

EVERYTHING works BUT the constant parking light (amber). I left my 03' on my passenger side and it's amber turn signal stays on where the 06' does not.

Now when I put my blinker on - the 06' works - so I know the light isn't bad.

I also took the 06' lamp back off and took it inside to check my wiring - and it looks good.

I'm using a 7443 plug instead of the 7440. I ran the power and the ground to the power and ground already ready for the 7440, expect now with the 7443 plug I have another wire that I tapped into the POWER FOR THE CITY LIGHT as instructed.

***I do not have a city light BULB plugged into the city light, will this be my issue??

Thanks so much in advance guys - I have my baby all torn down and need to get this fixed so I can drive her to work on Monday.

Thanks Guys!
-WoW
