the turn signal stays on as sidemarker then it blinks brighter or different color. when actual signal indicator is on.

Jay (I guess people dont read anymore) the 06+ projector housing uses a single filament bulb (7440 socket and bulb) so it only lights up when it blinks, otherwise it is off all of the time. The 03-05 housing uses a dual-filament bulb (7443 socket and bulb) so it is lit up all of the time when the lights are on and then blinks when the signal is activated.

I think for most 06+ projector converters like my self, it is more of a comfort thing of seeing that bulb lit up all of the time. I know for my self I was thinking it would look weird when I discovered the difference between the housings, so I went through the effort of making it work.

Yeah I have been SUPER lazy about doing that. I have posted a couple shots of the lights installed but no lit up shots yet. I really need to clean the car, but with going through elbow surgery earlier this month and planning a wedding I have barely cleaned my car like I should (touchless carwashes instead of hand washing, ugh). I will try to get something this weekend and I'll even through in a shot of it on this thread as well.

anyone have any advice on this issue I am having with my dash lights? i think it might be related to this mod because my DRLs and my turn signals aren't functioning properly either

It is a very simple modification to change over from the single filament bulb (7440) to the dual filament (7443) on your 2006 and latter projectors. It is shown here.

I just finished and it worked out perfectly for me. I love the way it looks! In retrospect though, it seems like a lot of work just for that small of a mod. I'm glad I did it anyway.

Took a little trial and error, but using the Automotive Connections socket (the one IvoryGT linked us to) and splicing the BLACK wire of the socket to the YELLOW&GREEN city light wire and connecting the RED&GREEN wire of the socket to the GREEN&YELLOW wire of the headlight assembly (where the old 7440 socket was removed) and connecting the GREEN&YELLOW wire of the socket to the BLACK (ground) wire of the headlight assembly (where the old 7440 socket was removed) got me the desired effect. Just a little info I thought could be helpful to the less electrically inclined.

do the headlights need to be opened for this mod or is everything accessible from the back? i plan on opening them tomorrow but still waiting for my sockets to come in the mail and was hoping i wouldn't need to do that twice

they don't need to be opened, it can all be done from the back.

on a side note, i discovered the issue I was having. In short the 7443 socket I was using sucked so my bulb fell out and the connectors in the socket were completing a circuit causing it to blow a fuse that knocked out my dash lights and my tail lights. Switched to a different socket that required modding the housing more, but it holds the bulbs better and looks to be of a better design.

Still need to put them back in though.
