headlight mod issue causing dash light issue?

So as I got to work monday morning I noticed I had an issue with my dash lights not functioning properly. I tried playing with the dimmer switch, but the lights were not responsive. Basically, some of my dash lights are on full bright and others are completely off no matter what position my headlight stalk is in and no matter how I adjust the dimmer (see original thread).

At first I thought this was a dash light or fuse issue (I haven't looked at any fuses yet), but this morning I noticed that my 06-projectors with the 7443 turn signal mod and my DRLs are not functioning 100%. The blinkers work when activated, but the DRLs wont light up and the modded turn signal is not on all of the time like it is supposed to be (see 7443 mod).

Has anyone who has done the 7443 turn signal mod run into this issue before or has anyone experienced something similar?

change the taillight fuse behind the battery and it will all work again . You have to remove the battery to get to the fuse . 100% thats what it is . There could be a underlying problem why the fuse blew but you wont know until you replace it .

Taillights fuse? My problem seems to only be affecting the front turn signals and the dash lights. From what I can tell, my rear tails have been functioning normally (as seen from rearview mirror anyway).

Thanks for the advice, I will look into it this friday when I have the opportunity to look it over.

So per your advice, I checked out the tail lamps from outside of the car while the headlights were on and sure enough, they're not on.

So it looks like I have a fuse to replace and not wires to retrace..thanks for the tip!

just want to say the advice above and this thread here (specifically post 10) were a big help. Giving this a shot tomorrow.

Maybe we should do a sticky about common fuse issues and the symptoms of them or maybe i should search a lot harder.

So I thought the tail lamp fuse would be the end all, but I continue to blow them immediately. So I got in there today and after tracking down possible issues, I narrowed it down to my passenger side headlight.

Now I have done the 7443 modeto both of my 06-projectors obviously and it is definitely something in the passenger head lamp wiring. I confirmed this by placing the drivers head lamp in the passenger plug and it all worked fine, no blown fuses.

This prompted me to inspect my wiring and I really can't see anything in the wiring especially when I compare it to the functioning driver's side. My best guess is there might be something failing in the 7443 socket.

Luckily I have my 04 projectors, so I may just put them back in and tackle this head light another day. For now my car is in pieces and I really dont have the time to sort it out.
