Very good write up and pics... I know that is time consuming from experience.

Great job.

ok i replaced my drivers side window motor today and im having a problem, when i open the door the window goes down about an inch or two and doesnt go back up when i close it, and if i open it again it will go down another inch or two and will keep doing this until it goes all the way down, is there some way to program or fix this problem? i have to open the door then manually put it up with the switch.

whenever you installed the new motor there is a special way it has to go back on...there is somewhere that I saw that you have to re-program it to do that..they also said if it is not put in the exact same way it came out you will have that issue...I had infiniti do my window motor install after I did this write up....I did this write up and repaired it like I was told..still didnt work..so then I thought what the hell its probably the motor..went and ordered a new one and that one didnt work..so then I took it to Infiniti and had them check it out and sure enough my whole power supply on the drivers side was not sending any power the passenger side window..baically the window relays went bad and they had to replace them.

well i put it in exactly how i took it out, i noticed a small button on the motor assembly mabye that is a program button, the window seems to be working fine but when i first put it in neither window would work and then all of a sudden they both worked fine, now i just have the problem witht it going down when i open the door, i think i remember at the dealership something about programming when he was looking at my window when it was stuck down, ill call them tomorrow and see what i can get out of them.

You have to reset the part that regulates the window positioning. I am going to do this diy tomorrow. Search and you will find the reset procedure. If I find it, I'll post the link.

Here are the instructions:

1. With the door open, lift up and hold the window switch until the window is completely closed.

* do not use the auto-up function and do not release the switch until the window is completely closed.

2. Get inside the vehicle and close the door. You need to close the door so the door switch is fully depressed.

3. Press and hold the window regulator motor reset switch. While holding the reset switch, press DOWN and HOLD until the window is all the way down.

* Do not use the auto close function and do not release the switch until the window is completely open.

4. Release the reset switch.

5. Then lift UP and HOLD the window switch until the window is completely closed.

* Do not use the auto close function and do not release the switch until the window is completely closed.

6. Open the door to release the door switch. The window glass should move partially down.

That is it. This came from the official Infiniti window reset procedure. It is PDF and I had no way to paste it, so I just typed it in.

Autozone. If you return the old motor, it will cost just under $150. The stealership wanted $294. Ha. I will be installing mine today or tomorrow.
