I would do this myself but it costs like 200 bucks just for a spring compressor. I dont have a whole suspension, I just have 350z springs so it is a slightly different process, bleh.

i dont remember. i think like $20 deposit that you get back. basically free. or you pay 20 and leave a deposit, but u get it back. yeah u can get a bunch of tools. torque wrench also. just go to the autozone counter and they'll tell u.

Ahh...gotcha!...i was confused for a sec...Seems fairly simple for the rears...the fronts are of concern b/c i'm like you and no spring compressor but i'll check autozone as well.

I'm having problems with this bolt. I'm at the point of stripping it. I used a 17mm socket and breaker bar. I even sprayed that PB rust removing lubricant spray.. help!

so when changing the front springs only the shock still has to come out? not quite as easy as the rears, huh?

followed this diy this past weekend. Took me a whole day to do the fronts and rears. the DIY is great but pulling out the front suspension is so hard. It's not as easy as the video. I was literally, standing on top of the axle and pushing against the ceiling as hard as I could in order to get it low enough so my friend could slide the oem shock and spring out.

Also, I had spring compressors on the spring as far as possible in order to give me more space to slide it out, i needed every little inch.

Finally, removing the top hat of the suspension was a pain also. I was installing stechs and dspecs. had two spring compressors on and used a breaker bar to get it loose to swap it over to the new set up.

Don't get me wrong, the diy is great, but is it missing something? the video had me baffled into thinking that the diy is missing a step...

p.s. I also used a vice grip and 17 mm wrench to tighten the top hat on my set up.

^^^ I take it you didn't you take the endlink bolt out of the front sway bar? I think the suspension would drop further if it wasn't hanging on the sway bar. Sounds like you were pushing against the sway bar.
