Jeez I'm half tempted to try this tomorrow since the car is on stands while I paint the rims... problem being I've never done it before, and my friend who knows what he's doing is busy... I've also got the Ichiba rear camber kit too, might be a little big of a job for me right this second. Plus, I'm making a 500 mile (one way) trip to go on vacation on Wednesday, so if I don't find a shop to align it before then and my toe and camber are all screwed I might destroy my tires haha.

So... That piece you removed from the bottom of the strut right before you compressed the spring... I don't remember that thing AT ALL when I was doing mine. Is that because yours is a sedan and mine's a coupe??

Yeah, I think it's 'cuz it's an X sedan

if i'm installing shocks/struts ONLY, do i have to remove the bolt holding the spring seat?
