Falken Ziex ZE-512
Falken Ziex ZE-512
Anyone have these on a Coupe? These have higher speed, traction and wear ratings than the OEM Bridgestones at about half the price. Is there a catch? Why spend the extra money when the friggin' tires wear out (feathering due to camber) in 18,000 miles?
I haven't had them on a coupe, but I had them on my last car, a prelude, and while they can't be compared directly, I would say the bridgestones are better regardless of the ratings. The 512s are an allseason tire, and are not great for performance. However, they are relatively quiet, and performed decently on my prelude in all weather conditions, but if you are looking for a summer tire, then that is not the one.
for the coupe in summer tires it would be falken's new FK452 that would be comparable to the bridgestone RE050A. i'm not quite sure how hardcore of a performance tire that new falken would be, but if you want a higher level of grip i personally know the falken RT615s are stickier and perhaps a tad cheaper than the oem bridgestones. they're a notch or two below a race tire and have a bit more noise as well. last time i checked the 615s aren't available in 19" though.
