Stillen's Master Cylinder brace?
Has anyone bought Stillen's Master Cylinder brace? The idea sounds good. I was wondering what the experience has been with this part.

Almost every vehicle [across the board] has a flexy firewall [to save weight/cost] which shows up in braking performance when you exert 100 lb/ft on the brake pedal.
Unfortunately something the factory could fix for a few dollars in the design.
The multiplier of adding $2 at the factory ends up adding $100 to MSRP.

I bought it when it first came out.At the time they said it was for the G and Z,they had the same part #.Well the G and the Z mount differently. So I made my own mounting bracket. Now they have 2 different part #'s,I have never seen their bracket for the G,on their website the pic shown on the G application is the Z bracket. On hard braking it is stiffer, more positive feel.It does do what they say it is suppose to do,just make sure you get the right bracket.
If he made his own bracket (looks great btw) he could just buy some helm, joints, allen bolts, nuts, bar, grommet and make his own for sale. I'm positive he could make them for 1/2 the price of stillen and sell it for 3/4 of the stillen price.

I have thought about it.But there is a plastic cup that goes up against the master cylinder to hold the rod in place.Which seems to be the best way to do it.To get a mold made is expensive.Unfortunatly I do not have the resources Stillen has.To even think about getting a mold made you would have to have about 100 confirmed sales.
That cup doesn't look like anything special. I'm sure you/we could find an off the shelf thing that would work. ie.. something with a circle a tad too small that you could machine bigger.

You have this? Tell me how much improvement in pedal feel there is! I just upgraded my front brakes to a Wilwood BBK with SS brake lines, rears upgraded with Stillen slotted rotors, metal matrix pads and StopTech SS rear brake lines. This set up is a vast improvement over stock, but the pedal could be alot firmer with the brace?
