I spoke with Jeremy @ Performance Factory, and JT was saying that you have to use the Ball Joint Separator and "bang like hell" because that piece is usually pressed on at the factory. I don't mind the banging, but I figured that I may want to put the car back to stock some day and it'd be nice to have the stock ball joints in 1 piece.

I recently got these arms installed on the front of my 2006 G35. I had all the lights come on and everything and couldnt get them to turn off even with an alignment. I came across this thread and notice some have got the lights turned off by just taking off the spacers. I took all 4 spacers off and the light went away when i drove off but 2 min later into driving it popped back up again?!?!?! whats up with this?

BUMP...

I installed the shimmed spacers plus ABS relocate hardware and have no issues (revised kit # 72125) Don't know what to say to others that have ABS light with those installed if using same revised kit #. Was -1.8 in front, now dialed in at -0.5. Driven over 100+ miles, still no ABS light = It's all good here.

The vid G35papa posted helped a lot, along with instructions included in kit. Thanx papa...

If I get a used arm kit and I wont come with any washers or the castle nut? Can I just re-use that same castle nut that is used to tighten oem arms? Only thing I would need is to get new cotter pins right?

Also, can someone upload a clearer pdf of the paper for setting the caster? Thanks

Thanks for the DIY sticky on this old version upper arm design; good stuff even after 4 yrs; 2011 now.

The complaints any noobies like me read here have since been resolved correctly by the manufacturer.
You must go to the to SPC Performance online catalog to see the newer design front upper arms #72125. The newer arm build is shallower in section and narrowed from the 1st design shown in this DIY sticky. There is installation instruction and maybe video.

In this forum if you read all these posts the older / original design shown in this sticky was a heavier and wider two piece assembly of +1.5 degree arm slot combined with 1.6 degree hub and caliper tapered shims for +3.1 deg total camber adjustment. Maybe as much as +3.5 degree total.

Most complaints before the newer design were tales of woe for the coupe models! Sounds to me after reading many responses on "both sides of the parts sales counter" that 350Z and sedans fitment did not become an issue for the design shown in this sticky.

SPC Performance followed up with serious R&D to resolve fender well knocking and wheel speed sensor / VDC lights because of small bracket issues. The G35 coupes were worse case and lead to the #72125.

I'm ok with SPC arm for now and will install on an 03 sedan.

i know this is a prett old thread but i installed my SPC a-arms 3-4 days ago, just the arms. but looking through the box today i realized i did not install the 8 washers that go on each side of the arms

anyone think i'll have any problems without them? or should take them back out, put the washers on and put them back on and then have the car aligned all over again?

If you mean those 8 red urethane washers that are in a separate bag with part #721208, they don't go on the arms at all. They are for use as increased bump stops on your struts (they go on below your existing bump stops) only in the case where your control arms hit the top of the wheel well-the adjusting nut on top makes the arm stick up a little higher than oem and can possibly hit. I just did the spc a-arm install (along with BC BR COs) a week ago and didn't use them and have no issues with hitting the wheel well (and I've gone over some sizeable potholes). From the instruction sheet in with them: "These enclosed washers are to be used as additional bump stops if needed. If the new control arm contacts body on sharp compression of the suspension add the bumpstop washers around the shaft of the strut."

EDIT: Actually, seeing as you have a 2007 G35 your situation might be different.

So the spc arms are good for someone that only has a 1' to 1.4" drop? I dont want to waste my 400 bucks
