G35 Tein S - Before and After Pics with actual drop amounts

Back when I was looking for springs it was next to impossible to find actual before and after #s for the ride height. Well, I took it upon myself to set it straight. All three of our cars have Tein S, so I figured, stick with what works. **Note, this was done on an '06 with roughly 800~1000 miles driven after drop**

As expected, the published numbers arent quite right (1.2F, 0.9R). So, please update whatever spring specs you have stickied.

Total drop is as follows:
1.125" Front
0.5" Rear

The rear didnt get as low as Id like. I realize we can mod the rear upper mount, but thats silly. Why not just advertise 0.5"

Ride Quality:

So far it seems quite good. In fact, the rear used to be a bit too stiff and I have had rear passangers comment on it. Now, the rear is softer (not too soft) and the car rides great. Body roll seems to be about the same (minimal).

I think alot of the issues involved with the rear not dropping as advertised has to do with the suspension changes over the years, especially on the 350zs. The springs were designed to work with early model 03 Z and 03 Gs, which did get the drops advertised. The trouble comes in when the shocks were upgraded as well as the revised springs and the availability of the sport tuned suspension package. It seems like everyone that is complaining about the lack of drop in the rear are 05/06 owners, usually with the sport tuned suspension. Hopefully they settle a little bit, or you can always do the springmount mod to get it to even up.

350z S-techs are going to make the rear stiffer. My biggest plus was that the rear was not as rough as the stock 06. Not only I noticed but the passangers and my wife.

Redlude97- Were you saying the 03-05's sat higher stock in the rear? that woudl be the only reason why the 06's would not drop the full 0.5". I admit, it sits fine and I probobly wont modify the mount.

Using the s-techs did you need a camber kit once they settled?

Nope. Front was a little out but the back was brought into spec. Let me just stress again, the car rides BETTER THEN STOCK!

why not the (Z) S-Techs? You did not want the better spring rate?

Is it me or does the Z S-T's drop a lil bit more in the back

Nice pics!

Your right it's great to have a before/after comparison with the vehicle parked in the exact same spot.

I think the ride looks great (the raked look), even if the rear didn't drop as advertised. Saved yourself some $$ as u don't need a camber kit etc.

i got the z h-tech rite now. the drop is nice but i wanna go a lil lower now. so i see the G stech drop around 1.125F and 0.5R or so but will the z stech drop more than that in the rear?
