Here's a one up. Make yourself some cheap ramps (credit to kenchan) and get yourself a good standard jack with higher weight cap, say like - 2.5 tons. That may not be necessary (credit to kenchan again) but it's just peice of mind. Those standard heavy weight steel jacks are almost always cheaper than those alum ones (unless you're buying Blue Point). Cheap seems to be kenchan's theme in this subject - not saying that it's a bad thing.
The only time I see those alum jacks come in handy is if you frequent the tracks and change out your tires and would like something lighter than a cast iron jack to haul around with your tires. Then I'd see getting an alum jack more feasible. But hey...what do I know? Bringing my old cast iron jack to the track never slowed me down.
But like I tell everyone...it's your (directed towards jepz) money. You should do what you want just as long as you're happy with your decision. cheap or not. dont matter.

I have jacks for you, pm me if you want more information. FYI, right now you can't buy it that price from Harbor freight anymore they raised the price to $84.99 plus that is 3000lb capcity, it is for the light weight track cars. I have seem someone use that to lift Ford, CAT 4 doors and the jack's seal just broke. You need more capactiy. 3000lb equal 1/2 only.
yes sometimes cheap isn't good unless you know what you are doing. Cheap screw driver cost $025 and break after 5 mints is okay. Cheap calculator cost me $5 and break within a week is okay.I will consider twice if I buy anythign for my car. If anyone will buy the knock off exhuast system with just few bending metal tubes or intake then you are entitle to buy anything you want. But if you always want the best products for your car then why anyone will consider the cheap stuffs regardless HP gain or maintains the car?
you can probably get one of these in your garage if you lift your car often.
they have all sorts of other lifts and not too expensive for what they can
do.
for most people, a regular racing jack should do the trick. i only lift my
car twice a month during the winter and maybe no more than once every
other month in the summer months.
